Town of Aurora Ratified Four-Year Agreement with CUPE LOCAL 905.01

The Town of Aurora is pleased to announce that on October 17, 2023, Council endorsed a new Collective Agreement with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 905.01 (outside workers).

The terms of the settlement, ratified by CUPE Local 905.01 and Town Council include:

  • modest benefit increases
  • annual wage increases over four years:
    • 3 per cent for April 1, 2023
    • 2.5 per cent for April 1, 2024
    • 2.5 per cent for April 1, 2025
    • 3 per cent as for April 1, 2026

CUPE Local 905.1 represents approximately 68 staff across the Town responsible for roads, parks, fleet, water, wastewater and facilities. The most recent collective agreement with CUPE Local 905.01 expired on March 31, 2023.

“I want to thank the bargaining committees for reaching a multi-year agreement at the table that values our employees and provides fair terms for our employees that deliver quality services to the Aurora community,” said Mayor Tom Mrakas. “On behalf of Town Council, I am pleased that we came to a fair agreement and can continue to provide excellent service delivery in our community.”

The four-year agreement will expire on March 31, 2027.
