Town of Aurora honoured for third year with Distinguished Budget Award

The Town of Aurora has once again been recognized for excellence in financial reporting and budgeting, earning the Distinguished Budget Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its 2025 budget document. This marks the third consecutive year the Town has received this prestigious honour, reinforcing its commitment to transparency, accountability, and high standards in municipal financial planning.

The Distinguished Budget Award is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting and is awarded to municipalities that meet the GFOA’s rigorous criteria for effective budget presentation. These criteria assess how well the budget serves as a policy document, financial plan, operational guide, and communication tool for both residents and staff.
