The Town of Aurora is delighted to unveil the re-launch of Machell’s Alley this summer, promising a vibrant and dynamic destination in the heart of Downtown Aurora.

In a remarkable display of community collaboration, the Town of Aurora has partnered with the Aurora Economic Development Corporation, Downtown Aurora BIA, Aurora Chamber of Commerce, Explore Aurora, Yonge Developments Inc., and Central Counties Tourism. This collective effort aims to highlight Downtown Aurora as the go-to place for shopping and dining, bringing together locals and visitors for an unforgettable summer experience.

“Machell’s Alley is an excellent example of collaboration to support local businesses, residents, and visitors. Together we can build on the exciting momentum of Aurora Town Square by continuing to raise awareness of Downtown Aurora and provide spaces that attract people from all over,” says Mayor Tom Mrakas.

Once again, Machell’s Alley will transform the vacant lot at 15217 Yonge Street into a lively open- air seating space where patrons can savor local food and enjoy a variety of entertainment. Steeped in history, this site was originally home to the Town’s Blacksmith and Ironworks shop. Naming it “Machell’s Alley” pays tribute to the pioneering entrepreneurs who laid the groundwork for our vibrant community and underscores our commitment to placemaking and downtown revitalization.
